Com o anúncio das 12 cidades-sede da Copa do Mundo de 2014 no Brasil, agora as cidades começam a se mobilizar para serem as residências de seleções que geralmente escolhem os lugares mais tranquilos para treinarem. Sendo assim, Cambuquira pode e deve se candidatar, colocar os seus políticos e representantes para trabalhar. E, quem sabe possa atrair algum dos times de futebol dos países que participarão do campeonato.A cidade tem clima favorável, água mineral de qualidade e a esperada tranquilidade desejada por todos. Existe um estádio de futebol (campo, pelo menos!), além de uma rede hoteleira que pode ser preparada nesses cinco anos que faltam.
Para o Governo do Estado de Minas, Cambuquira e as demais cidades do circuito das águas participando do evento, é extremamente válido para lançar internacionalmente as nossas águas minerais.
Por outro lado, temos um aeroporto que pode ser preparado para receber aeronaves dos times e que fica bem perto da cidade, o Aeroporto Mello Viana, construído pelo consórcio Cambuquira/Três Corações.
Nossos deputados, além de cambuquirenses que fazem parte do governo como Francisco Pedalino Costa, poderiam dar uma ajudinha que seria um grande impulso para o restabelecimento do nosso turismo.
Bem, sonhar pode. Né? Ou, é pecado?
Esta aí o recado para Kaka e Pedalino, Reinaldo Calil e seus deputados.
Minas já está na briga para ser a sede da abertura. (clique p/ver a notícia.)
Em resposta a essa provocação, recebi de Antônio Almeida, assessor do Prefeito atual o seguinte texto:
já encaminhamos correspondência à FIFA, CBF, Aécio Neves, Lula, Dilma
Roussef, deputado Odair Cunha, Ministro do Turismo, Ministro do Esporte, Secretário de Estado do Esporte, Secretária de Estado de Turismo, Dilzon Melo, Dunga, Pelé entre outros. Cambuquira não quer ser somente um dos roteiros e sim ser a água oficial da Copa do Mundo e sobre este assunto o Prefeito estará em Belo Horizonte na quinta feira para conversar com dirigentes da COPASA/Águas de Minas e Codemig.

. The mineral water of Cambuquira was recently elected the best water of Latin America and the World´s second best ahead of well known brands such as Perrie (Exame magazine, 1997).
The mineral water of Cambuquira is characterised by its cristaline quality and the persistency and homogeneity of its gas, neutrality of smell and freshness.
Besides the water, the town offers tourists great hospitality and peace and principally contact with Nature : it has its own native forest giving access to its mineral water park and very pleasant walking.
The municipality borders on Tres Corações, birthplace of the greatest footballer of all times , o Pelé.
The objective of this letter is to invite you to get to know our town and water and to register Cambuquira mineral water as the official water of the 2014 World Cup.
We are aware that admirers / supporters of football who accompany their national teams need other options on days when there are no matches and our municipality would be at the disposition of tourists who appreciate a pleasant climate , Cambuquira is something of a refuge in the mountains of the South of Minas Gerais at an altitude of 950 metres being one of the most important mineral water spas of Brazil. A different and relevent place, Cambuquira is a tranquil and picturesque place .

Caro Silva Lemes, mandei minha mensagem de apoio faz algum tempo, depois de saber dela pelo seu blog. Estive em Cambuquira julho último e o Nando da Pizzaria 14 Bis me mostrou colante de seu carro em apoio à campanha, ocasião em que falei a ele de seu blog e da campanha em si e que eu já tinha assinado. Agradeço a divulgação de uma cidade que conheci por gosto de minha tia e que muito me innspirou e inspira até hoje. Tem sido vinte e cinco bons anos nessas terras bonitas.
